Healing together,
thriving together

“I believe in the power of community - from a young age my parents taught me to understand that when one hurts we all hurt - and why i believe we must heal together so we can thrive together.”
Meet Josie McClary
My parents taught me an important lesson growing up, “When one hurts, we all hurt. When one needs, we all need”. This lesson has guided my values and commitment to public service for my entire life. When I moved to Rochester in 1989 to raise my family, I fell in love with this city. My children grew up here and now they’re raising my grandchildren here. I’ve spent 30 years working in Public Service and spent 25 of them as a member of the CSEA. Currently I serve as the Chief Community Engagement Officer for Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, where I get to spend time in every corner of this county and city learning about the needs of our residents and bringing much needed services to every neighborhood. In my free time I serve on the board of Reconnect Rochester and I am the immediate past President of the 19th Ward Neighborhood Association. In service to my community I have demonstrated a passion for helping those around me, something that will lead the way in every action I make as a City Councilmember.
